Does PokerJuice support weighted ranges like for instance QQ@50?

By Morten

Q: Does PokerJuice support weighted ranges like for instance QQ@50?

A: No. The reason being that Odds Oracle does not support weighted inside nested ranges. And since PokerJuice uses nested ranges (Preflop -> Flop -> Turn -> River) throughout the application it is not possible to use weighted ranges in PokerJuice. However, by utilizing suit constraints a very similar effect can easily be achieved.

… and even specific cards can be used, as in the example below!

We 3 bet and get a dry flop. We check to Villain who is stabbing:

    Stab on PB

We believe he is stabbing around 50% and that both his check behind- and stabbing ranges are constructed very random. Since we can’t do *@50 we can instead add suits or blockers to filter out ~50% of his hands. I do this by using the Range distribution module and try various ranges and find that Villain holds a 2, 3 or 4 around 50% of times:

    RD frequency

    blocker range

Now I just refer to this range using the PJ Variables functionality and as we can see Villains stabbing range is now narrowed down with around 50%:

    Randomizing Flop stab range

Even though this method is slightly more time consuming than if weighted ranges was possible, it can be slightly more accurate since most often Villain is most often not totally randomizing his frequencies.
